AGENCY:

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Labor.

ACTION:

Proposed rule; extension of comment period.

DATES:

The comment period for the NPRM that was published at 90 FR 28336 on July 1, 2025, is extended. Comments on any aspect of the NPRM must be submitted by November 1, 2025.

ADDRESSES:

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

On July 1, 2025, OSHA issued an NPRM proposing to remove OSHA's COVID-19 Emergency Temporary Standard and its associated recordkeeping and reporting provisions from the Code of Federal Regulations. The public comment period for the NPRM was to close on September 2, 2025, 60 days after publication of the NPRM. In response to requests from stakeholders, OSHA is extending the public comment period for 60 days, until November 1, 2025. OSHA believes a 60-day extension is sufficient and appropriate in order to balance the agency's need for stakeholder input with the agency's desire to proceed with the rulemaking in a timely manner.
