Pacific Fishery Management Council; Public Meeting

AGENCY:

National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Commerce.

ACTION:

Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council's (Council) Ad Hoc Ecosystem Workgroup (EWG) will hold a meeting, which is open to the public.

DATES:

The online meeting will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until business for the day is completed.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

This online meeting will comprise of two sessions. During the first session members of NOAA's California Current Integrated Ecosystem Assessment Team will brief Council advisory body members and interested public on the contents of the 2022-23 California Current Ecosystem Status Report. During the second session the EWG will brief Council advisory body members and interested public on the work plan it is developing for the Fishery Ecosystem Plan Initiative on Ecosystem and Climate Information for Species, Fisheries, and Fishery Management Plans. This work plan will be presented to the Council for its consideration at its March 5-10, 2023, meeting. The EWG also may discuss other items related to items on future Council agendas.

Although non-emergency issues not contained in the meeting agenda may be discussed, those issues may not be the subject of formal action during this meeting. Action will be restricted to those issues specifically listed in this document and any issues arising after publication of this document that require emergency action under section 305(c) of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, provided the public has been notified of the intent to take final action to address the emergency.
